A Jet2 flight from Larnaca to Manchester turned chaotic when a passenger, reportedly intoxicated, headbutted another traveller mid-flight. Witnesses described the man, believed to be in his 30s, as having consumed large amounts of alcohol before boarding. His aggressive behaviour escalated, prompting cabin crew to relocate his girlfriend to another seat to diffuse the situation.
As the flight progressed, the man began pacing the aisle, shouting and striking overhead compartments. The situation reached a peak when he headbutted a fellow passenger, leading to a struggle that required four other travellers to restrain him. The cabin crew, visibly distressed, called for assistance as the atmosphere on the plane shifted from chaos to eerie silence.
Upon landing, police rushed to the scene and administered CPR to the injured passenger, who was later reported to be in a stable but critical condition. The incident has raised concerns about the safety protocols on flights, particularly regarding alcohol consumption and passenger behaviour.
Jet2 confirmed the priority landing due to the disruptive incident and stated that an investigation is underway. This alarming event highlights the potential dangers of unruly behaviour on flights and the need for stricter measures to ensure passenger safety in the skies.
