Nobu Expands Luxury Offerings in the Algarve

Nobu is set to enhance its European presence with a new luxury hotel, restaurant, and residential complex in Portugal’s Algarve region. Scheduled to open in 2029, this development at the Monte Rei resort will feature 100 rooms and suites, alongside a signature Nobu restaurant. The project aims to blend luxury with the natural beauty of the Algarve, which could significantly boost local tourism and economy.

Construction is expected to commence in 2027, marking a strategic move for Nobu as it expands its brand beyond major cities. This development follows Nobu’s plans for a hotel in Lisbon and reflects a growing trend of high-end hospitality in less urbanised areas, appealing to affluent travellers seeking privacy and exclusivity.

The introduction of 21,000 square meters of Nobu villas and branded residences will also cater to those looking for long-term investment opportunities in luxury real estate. This could shift the local property market dynamics, attracting more international buyers and investors.

As Nobu continues to grow its portfolio across Europe, including future openings in the UK and other cities, the Algarve project highlights a broader trend of luxury brands tapping into emerging markets, potentially reshaping the hospitality landscape in the region.
