A kitten named Gelato, who suffered a spinal injury leaving him unable to use his back legs, has regained mobility thanks to a creative wheelchair made from toy cars and household items. Discovered alongside his littermates, Gelato’s condition initially seemed dire, but a veterinary assistant at Cincinnati Animal Care devised a solution that allowed him to move freely.
Using recycled materials, the assistant crafted a frame from cardboard and attached toy ambulances as wheels. After initial challenges with the design, she reinforced it with wooden rulers, enabling Gelato to navigate his surroundings.
