New Eurostar Routes Set to Transform Travel in 2026

Eurostar is expanding its network with three new routes, significantly enhancing travel options for UK residents. The first route, launching in December 2026, will connect London directly to Antwerp, reducing travel time by 45 minutes. This change is expected to make Antwerp more accessible, potentially boosting tourism and trade between the UK and Belgium.

In the early 2030s, Eurostar plans to introduce a route to Frankfurt, Germany’s financial hub. This service aims to provide a sustainable alternative to short-haul flights, which could reshape business travel patterns and encourage economic ties between the UK and Germany.

Additionally, Eurostar is exploring routes to Zurich and Geneva in Switzerland, which would cut travel times significantly. Currently, journeys to these cities require multiple connections, making direct services highly anticipated by travellers seeking efficiency.

These developments reflect a broader trend towards rail travel as a greener option, aligning with environmental goals. As Eurostar enhances its offerings, it may influence how people view cross-border travel, shifting preferences from air to rail for both leisure and business trips.
