A three-year-old boy is finally home after spending over two months recovering from severe injuries sustained when he was allegedly thrown into a crocodile enclosure. The incident, which occurred at Johnsons of Old Hurst in Cambridgeshire, left the child with critical injuries requiring seven surgeries, including damage to his arms, neck, and face.

His family has expressed relief and gratitude as he returns to a familiar environment, allowing him to play with toys and bond with family. The boy’s rehabilitation journey is ongoing, with his parents committed to supporting his recovery at home while frequently visiting the hospital for further treatment.

The incident has raised questions about the care of the suspect, a 30-year-old man with learning difficulties, who was arrested but later released. An investigation into his supervision during the outing is underway, highlighting potential vulnerabilities in care settings for individuals with special needs.

In a show of community support, over £114,000 has been raised to assist the family with medical expenses and lost wages. The family has also pledged to donate to local charities, reflecting their gratitude for the care received during this challenging time.
