The tragic deaths of three sisters found in the sea off Brighton have been confirmed as non-criminal by police. Jane Adetoro, Christina Walters, and Rebecca Walters were discovered on May 13, and a postmortem revealed they all drowned. The police investigation traced their last movements, showing they were dropped off by taxi at Madeira Drive shortly before their deaths.

Despite extensive inquiries, no evidence suggested they visited any local establishments before entering the water. This has raised questions about their state of mind and circumstances leading to their tragic decision. The police have stated that their investigation found no signs of third-party involvement, which may ease community concerns about safety and potential foul play.

The sisters’ deaths have sparked significant public interest and grief, particularly within black communities, highlighting ongoing concerns about the safety of individuals in water. The East Sussex coroner’s inquest will further explore the sisters’ movements and reasons for entering the sea, which could provide more context to this heartbreaking incident.

Their father expressed profound grief but also gratitude for the support received from the community, as a GoFundMe campaign for their funerals has raised nearly £46,000. This outpouring of support reflects the impact the sisters had on those around them, as well as the community’s desire for answers and closure.
