Experience 19th Century Exploration with HX Expeditions’ New Cabin

HX Expeditions has launched a unique cabin aboard the MS Fridtjof Nansen, designed to evoke the spirit of 1896, the year of the first expedition cruise. This limited-edition cabin features authentic wooden decor, vintage maritime furnishings, and even a scent pod that mimics the atmosphere of the era, offering guests a nostalgic journey back in time.

The cabin is available for booking throughout 2026 as an optional upgrade for €100 per night per person, but only for one night per guest per sailing. This exclusivity adds a layer of urgency for those wishing to experience this historical homage, as spots are limited and must be reserved quickly through the HX app or onboard reception.

Beyond just accommodation, the cabin serves as a living museum, with historians providing insights into the golden age of exploration during the voyages. This initiative not only celebrates HX Expeditions’ heritage but also enhances the overall travel experience by connecting guests with the rich history of Arctic exploration.

As travel trends shift towards immersive experiences, HX Expeditions’ 1896 Cabin could set a precedent for future themed accommodations, blending luxury with historical authenticity. This could influence how other travel companies approach heritage tourism, making history a central part of the journey.
