New Witcher Spin-Off Targets Mobile and PC Gamers

A new co-op multiplayer spin-off set in The Witcher universe is reportedly in development, but it will not be available on consoles. This title, distinct from the previously announced Project Sirius, aims to engage players on PC and mobile platforms, potentially reshaping how fans interact with the franchise.

Set in the year 1230, players will create and customise their own witcher, embarking on monster-hunting contracts across diverse environments. This shift towards mobile and PC could reflect a broader trend in gaming, where developers are increasingly focusing on accessible platforms to reach a wider audience.

The involvement of mobile developer Scopely, known for titles like Monopoly Go!, suggests that CD Projekt may be looking to replicate the success of location-based games like Pokémon Go. This could signal a significant change in how The Witcher franchise engages with its fanbase, moving beyond traditional gaming experiences.

While fans await more information on The Witcher 4 and its expansion, this new spin-off could redefine expectations for future titles in the series, highlighting a growing trend towards mobile gaming in established franchises.
