Liberian authorities recently seized nearly four tonnes of cocaine valued at approximately €277 million, marking one of the largest drug busts in the country’s history. This significant operation took place near Roberts International Airport, revealing a sophisticated and well-funded narcotics trafficking network. The arrest of two foreign nationals underscores the international dimensions of this issue.
The scale of this seizure not only highlights Liberia’s role as a transit hub for cocaine destined for Europe but also raises concerns about the broader implications for regional security and governance.
