A bungalow in Newton Longville, near Milton Keynes, exploded in a suspected gas blast early Sunday morning, sending debris flying and causing significant damage to nearby properties. The explosion was powerful enough to be heard three miles away, raising concerns about gas safety in residential areas.

One occupant was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, underscoring the potential dangers of gas leaks. Local residents reported chaos as they rushed to assist the injured man, who was left in shock and badly burnt. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of regular gas safety checks in homes.

Emergency services, including four fire engines from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue, responded swiftly to the scene. Thames Valley Police confirmed that they were investigating the cause of the explosion, which has displaced several families from their homes.

As investigations continue, this incident may prompt local authorities to review gas safety regulations and enforcement, potentially leading to stricter measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and ensure their gas appliances are regularly inspected to avoid such dangerous situations.
