The Eden Project Morecambe is set to become a significant attraction in Lancashire, with construction commencing soon. This £100 million project aims to reshape the local economy and community, promising new jobs and skills development. The unveiling of The Elder Tree, a 20-metre immersive exhibit funded by a £4.5 million donation, highlights the project’s commitment to environmental education and awareness.

Scheduled to open in 2028, the attraction will feature two main domes and landscaped areas, scaled back from an initial four due to budget constraints. The Elder Tree will serve as a central piece, illustrating humanity’s evolving relationship with nature and inspiring visitors to envision a sustainable future. This focus on ecological themes is crucial as society grapples with climate change.

The project is backed by local councils and the UK Government, which has pledged £50 million, with an additional £50 million needed from private donors. The community gardens, set to open in 2027, will provide free access to green spaces, further enhancing local engagement with nature and education.

As construction progresses, the Eden Project Morecambe is positioned to become a beacon of hope and innovation, potentially transforming Morecambe into a hub for environmental tourism and education, while addressing pressing ecological issues.
