A Translink glider in west Belfast was damaged after items were set on fire in the back of the vehicle. The incident occurred on Twinbrook Road around 5:40 PM BST, when a young man ignited several items, leading to significant smoke and flooring damage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the driver, who managed to extinguish the flames, was left shaken by the experience.

This incident highlights ongoing issues with anti-social behaviour on public transport, raising questions about passenger safety and the measures in place to prevent such occurrences. Translink has stated that the safety of customers and staff is their top priority, and they are cooperating with police investigations into the matter.

The glider has been taken out of service, which may disrupt local transport schedules and inconvenience commuters. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or was on the bus to come forward, indicating a community effort to address safety concerns.

As investigations continue, this event serves as a reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by public transport systems and the importance of community vigilance in maintaining safety on the roads.
