Israel and Morocco Strengthen Diplomatic Relations with New Embassies

Israel and Morocco have taken a significant step in their diplomatic relationship by agreeing to open embassies in each other’s countries. This move not only formalises their ties but also signals a commitment to enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including trade and tourism.

The agreement includes plans to resume direct commercial flights, which will facilitate travel and economic exchanges between the two nations. This is particularly important for boosting tourism, as both countries stand to benefit from increased visitor numbers.

Furthermore, the two nations are set to finalise agreements on investment protection and preventing double taxation by the end of the year. These agreements are expected to create a more favourable environment for businesses and investors, potentially leading to increased economic activity.

This diplomatic upgrade comes on the heels of the Abraham Accords, which aimed to normalise relations between Israel and several Arab nations. The implications of this strengthened relationship could extend beyond bilateral ties, influencing regional dynamics and encouraging other nations to consider similar agreements with Israel.
