Moscow is constructing a missile defense complex near a research institute linked to President Putin’s daughter, Katerina Tikhonova. This development is part of a broader strategy to enhance the city’s defenses against potential Ukrainian missile strikes, particularly as Ukraine advances its military capabilities.
The new facility, featuring S-400 air-defense systems, is strategically located less than 10 kilometers from the Kremlin. This marks the fifth such installation in a growing network of defenses within the capital, indicating a significant escalation in military preparedness amid ongoing tensions with Ukraine.
As Ukraine has intensified its long-range drone attacks, Russia faces severe fuel shortages, prompting restrictions across multiple regions. This situation has led to increased public frustration, yet the Kremlin remains steadfast in its military objectives, showing no signs of easing its demands.
The construction of this complex not only underscores the Kremlin’s prioritization of security around Putin’s family but also reflects the broader implications of the ongoing conflict, as both nations prepare for a protracted struggle with evolving military technologies.
