This shift could intensify military operations in the region, particularly as winter approaches, when conditions may favour larger military movements.
Moreover, the delivery of North Korean ballistic missiles to Russia could escalate the conflict further. Analysts warn these missiles, while less accurate, have a heavier payload and are designed for terror tactics, potentially increasing civilian casualties in Ukraine. As Ukraine’s air defence capabilities dwindle, the threat from these missiles could grow.
Despite these developments, experts agree that North Korea’s military contribution is unlikely to alter the fundamental power balance in the war.
