Rail services at London Paddington have resumed following a significant disruption caused by a grass fire in North Kensington. The blaze, which led to an electricity supply failure, blocked all lines between Paddington and Heathrow, affecting numerous passengers and services.
Around 380 passengers were evacuated from an Elizabeth Line train due to the incident, highlighting the immediate safety concerns that arose. The London Fire Brigade deployed six fire engines and approximately 40 crew members to tackle the fire, which was reported just after 4:10 PM on Saturday.
While services have now been restored, the incident underscores the vulnerability of rail infrastructure to environmental factors, particularly during a summer marked by drought and increased fire risks.
