The 14 gentoo penguins currently housed in a basement enclosure at Sea Life London will soon enjoy a new habitat featuring natural light and a larger pool. This change comes after concerns were raised about their welfare due to the previous conditions, which lacked fresh air and adequate space.
Merlin Entertainments, the aquarium’s owner, has announced plans to enhance the penguins’ living environment, collaborating with animal welfare organisations and experts.
