Saudi Arabia has launched a new multiple-entry visa for Umrah pilgrims, allowing them to visit the holy cities multiple times within a year. This visa, valid for 365 days, enables a cumulative stay of up to 90 days, enhancing flexibility for those wishing to perform the pilgrimage. Pilgrims must purchase an Umrah service package through the Nusuk platform to qualify, integrating digital services for a smoother experience.
This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to enrich the pilgrim experience and improve service efficiency. The Nusuk platform acts as a comprehensive digital hub, offering everything from visa issuance to accommodation and transport, streamlining the pilgrimage process.
The introduction of this visa is significant as it reflects a growing trend towards digitalisation in religious tourism, potentially increasing the number of pilgrims. In 2026 alone, Saudi Arabia welcomed over 931,500 Umrah pilgrims, marking a 22.5% increase from the previous year, indicating a rising interest in the pilgrimage.
As the visa remains inactive during the Hajj season, it underscores the distinct nature of Umrah as a voluntary pilgrimage, which can be undertaken year-round. This change not only facilitates easier access for pilgrims but also supports the Kingdom’s broader economic and cultural goals.
