The search continues for two individuals missing after their fishing boat encountered distress in the English Channel. Over 15 lifeboats and a French warship have been deployed to assist in the search, which began after the vessel, carrying five people, faced trouble off Plymouth’s coast on Saturday evening.
Three of the five aboard have been accounted for, but details about the boat and the nature of the emergency remain unclear. The Coastguard has mobilised a helicopter, fixed-wing aircraft, and RNLI lifeboats to conduct an extensive search near Eddystone lighthouse, with local civilian vessels also joining the operation.
