Uzbekistan has unveiled a comprehensive five-part business reform plan, allocating nearly €1 billion to stimulate growth in artificial intelligence and exports. This initiative aims to transition local businesses from merely starting up to expanding their capital and reaching international markets.
A significant portion of the funding will support a new programme called “AI Partner for 10,000 Enterprises,” which will subsidise half of the costs for companies adopting AI technologies. This move is expected to enhance productivity and innovation across various sectors, potentially reshaping the competitive landscape.
Additionally, the government plans to invest $1 billion in a unified export-support system, helping businesses adapt to foreign market demands. This includes developing an Export Navigator tool to assist companies in understanding tariffs and logistics, which could lead to a substantial increase in international trade.
Regulatory changes are also part of the package, with a three-year moratorium on inspections for small businesses and a shift in the burden of proof to the state. These reforms aim to foster a more supportive environment for entrepreneurs, ultimately driving economic growth and enhancing Uzbekistan’s position in the global market.
