Fife Council has approved plans for new 20mph speed limits across three communities, aiming to enhance road safety and traffic flow. The proposed changes will affect Largoward, Boarhills, and Tayport, with a public consultation set to follow before final decisions are made.
In Largoward, permanent 20mph limits will be established on key roads, including St Andrews Road and Durham Place. This initiative also includes converting an existing part-time limit near a school into a full-time restriction, addressing local concerns about speeding.
Boarhills will see similar measures, with new limits introduced on local roads following resident feedback. Tayport’s existing 20mph network will be expanded to ensure consistent coverage, aiming to improve safety for both pedestrians and drivers.
Additionally, new parking restrictions are proposed for Pitlessie to alleviate issues with obstructive parking. These changes reflect the council’s commitment to creating safer, more accessible communities, with local residents encouraged to participate in the consultation process.
