Capcom’s Pragmata Sequel Looks Promising Following Strong Sales

Capcom has indicated a high likelihood of a sequel to its new IP, Pragmata, following impressive sales figures. Since its release in April, the game has sold over 2.5 million copies, a notable achievement for a single-player title. This success is attributed to effective pre-release marketing and the appeal of its lead character, Diana.

The company’s recent earnings report highlights Pragmata’s role in driving revenue, with a 66.9% increase in operating profit year-on-year. Capcom’s focus on expanding its portfolio with successful franchises like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter suggests that Pragmata could become a significant player in their lineup.

However, while a sequel seems likely, the timeline for its release remains uncertain. Capcom has a history of prioritising other franchises, such as Devil May Cry and Resident Evil, which could delay the development of Pragmata 2. Given the complexities of modern game development, fans might not see a sequel until at least 2030.

As Capcom continues to build on its successes, the gaming community is left to speculate on how Pragmata will evolve. The potential for a sequel not only excites fans but also reflects broader trends in the gaming industry, where original IPs are increasingly being nurtured into major franchises.
